Answers-pt 1

You asked three questions (you still can by the way) and now......some answers.  But, it's a ver y busy day, so you get what you get and then, I must move on.

Misty asked

1. Why when I click "remember personal info" when leaving a comment, it never does? It has to do with the security settings on your personal computer.  If you have them set at medium or higher typepad can't put in a cookie.

2. Who is your best girlfriend ever? Why?  Honestly, I don't have just one best girlfriend.  I have many girlfriends and each one fills a certain very important spot in my life, but I wouldn't place one above the other.  I am still close with my friend/ roomate from college, and sometimes it is very easy to talk about things with her as opposed to someone else, because there is so much history there that just doesn't have to be covered to get to the heart of the topic, but I wouldn't say she's my "best bud."  My sistahs also are extremely close to me in a different way because they have "been there"  I can talk about things with them and not have to go into a medical or psychology lecture because they already know it.  It would simply take too long to go into a list of what I love about each of my friends.  Each one has a very unique place in my heart, and I am so glad for all of you!!

3. Have you gotten your info on the three day walk? YES I DID! I'm totally stoked.  I started riding the exercise bike this week and starting next week I am going to take walks of lengthening duration, starting with two miles and working up.  I haven't yet officially registered, but probably will in March.

Monika asked:

Are you originally from Florida? No, I was born in Detroit, Mi.  I was a year old when my parents moved to Nashville, Tn, and I lived there until Dec 28, 1994 when my husband and I drove through the night in a u-haul truck with all my possessions to our apartment in Florida, where he had been living for six months.

Were you always "the cool one"? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! Oh good gracious NO! I've never been the cool one.  I'm too different to be cool, and too independant to conform to fit the cool mold.  I was a "fringer" in high school, meaning I was friends with some of the "in-crowd" but I never really did quite enough to make it all the way to cool.  I've always been too busy doing my own thing for my own reasons to be quite that important.  And honestly, that's ok.  Because I've found that the most interesting people are those who can't quite fit the mold.  I've talked before about cookie cutter people.  not. my. style.

Did having and overcoming cancer change your personality at all? THAT is a tough question.  I was only 22 when I my cancer was diagnosed so honestly, I never really had much time to establish an adult personality before I was dealing with it.  Cancer, and the miracles God brought to my life radically transformed my faith, which in turn have radically changed me, but even now, I am going through a period of regrowth and retransformation, so I can't speak to whether it is my cancer experience or the way God has used the experience to shape who I am now.  I tend to lean towards the latter.

Heather asked:

Before your battle with cancer, how did you feel about the color pink? Hated it. Though that may have been a show of solidarity with my father.  Before cancer pink meant "soft, frilly, foo-foo girl" which I NEVER was.  Now it means something entirely different.  The strongest, bravest most amazing women I know wear pink proudly.  There's nothing soft about it.  And at the same time, its the perfect ultra-feminine color to represent a disease that strips you of almost everything you identify with being feminine.  I. Love. Pink. My Dad would too, now.

Do your girls need hypo-allergenic earrings or are any kind okay?  Well, because of the hand fiasco I haven't been able to change their starter posts which are--hypo allergenic.  So I don't know.

Where all are you pierced and, having met me, would you reccommend I pierce anything or would I look odd? I have three ear piercings on each ear, a cartiledge (upper ear) piercing, belly button and nose.  You should get your belly button done.  No one but Craig sees mine, but he loves it! It's like I am secretly sexy all the time! Now my very favorite piercing is my nose, but not everyone wants holes in their face.  To me, my nose is just a little reminder that you might want to look twice before you label me and stick me in a box.  Hate. boxes.  I am, all of us are, more than you see.

Corey wants me to pierce my belly button. Maybe while I'm in Nashville and have you girls to hold my hand. Heck, it can't be worse than having my tubes tied. Right?

oooh. You're busy. But that's too bad. You're still tagged for ANOTHER meme.

if I knew how to make that a link, I would've. Sorry. (someone could teach me!)

In 1979 my new husband and I drove frm souther CA, in a U-Haul all night to Berkeley, CA. We had both been in college there, and were moving back to start graduate school. GO married student housing!

I had a cartiledge ear piercing a few years ago, but couldn't get used to it... I don't think it ever quite healed. It was sore for so long, I eventually gave up and took it out for good. It was so pretty, though.

Great questions you got, and answers too!

Secretly want to do a third hole in my left ear, for a "servant's earring"--haven't been brave enough or convicted enough though ;)

I've always had that inner urge for a belly-button ring, but my husband assures me that he would not be impress. *sigh* My ONE attempt to be wild . . . :-)

*sniff* I see where I rate.
No really, it's ok.
*sniff*
